Our team at Sage Engineering has some impressive employees in our ranks and this Employee Spotlight series aims to highlight the incredibly talented individuals who work with us. We’ll be featuring a new interview here on our website every few months.

How has SAGE helped with your career development?

SAGE is a place for people who enjoy challenges and are passionate about continuous learning. Since the day I joined, the learning has not stopped. The management team consistently provides me with resources and support to expand my technical knowledge, along with various opportunities to sharpen my soft and technical skills by visiting client sites and leading client meetings. Exposure to numerous projects in different areas has allowed me to apply what I learned in both college and university and tie it all in the practical world. I have experienced consistent growth and support with career direction through company processes such as the Performance Development Plan and regular touchpoint meetings with the management team. These initiatives have provided me with valuable guidance and support, allowing me to develop both personally and professionally.

What advice do you have for prospective candidates considering SAGE?

My advice would be to develop a self-starter mindset. This means seeking out opportunities, showing initiative on internal and external projects, and taking on a bigger role when needed. Be confident in your skillset but always strive for improvement, as it will enable you to communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders and allow you to take on new challenges with a positive attitude. Leverage your strengths and past successes, and continually seek out opportunities to learn and grow.

What has your experience been with SAGE’s culture?

SAGE has created a very inclusive and supportive environment. The emphasis for a healthy and friendly culture at SAGE is a principal tenet of what the company is about. From the day I joined, I have felt supported every step of the way. The company events have been important for me to feel at home at SAGE and have provided me with an opportunity to build relationships with my colleagues beyond work. Overall, this is a great place for recent graduates or seasoned professionals to start or advance their careers.
