Ryan is an accomplished Engineer who oversees Business Development and Client Services. With over 15 years of experience working with top ten global pharmaceutical companies, Ryan has demonstrated leadership in industrial manufacturing environments from feasibility to full-scale operations. Ryan has extensive experience in the areas of parenteral drug visual inspection, process and equipment design, machine vision and manufacturing automation within the pharmaceutical and radiopharmaceutical industry.

As Co-Owner and Principal of SAGE Engineering Services Ltd., Ryan Basdeo is a driving strategic force behind the firm’s commitment to “Engineering Clarity. Guiding Complexity.” With over 17 years of specialized experience in multinational pharmaceutical environments, Ryan is recognized as a leading authority in custom manufacturing solutions, combining technical excellence with visionary business leadership.
An innovative and adaptive leader, Ryan’s expertise spans the entire visual inspection lifecycle for parenteral drugs. He launched his career navigating the core technical challenges of machine vision engineering, where he designed advanced algorithms for defect detection and commissioned automated inspection machines globally. Today, he champions digital transformation within the pharmaceutical space, integrating Artificial Intelligence, automation, and complex machine vision systems to build world-class inspection programs that safeguard product quality and patient safety.
Ryan’s engineering philosophy is fundamentally integrative. Drawing from a robust background that includes his tenure as Technical Services Manager for Bosch Packaging’s Inspection Technology Division, he bridges the gap between intricate process design and full-scale operational reality. He provides strategic direction to SAGE’s critical-project delivery teams, advising global clients on cost-effective, highly compliant best practices across cGMP, GAMP5, and 21 CFR Part 11 regulatory frameworks.
Beyond his deep technical experience in equipment engineering, automation, and controls, Ryan plays a pivotal role in shaping SAGE’s overarching business strategy. He actively manages business development, drives strategic business planning, and architects the brand success of the company. By cultivating a highly responsive, client-focused engineering culture, he empowers his teams to navigate the complexities of modern industrial manufacturing with agility and precision.
Ryan holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) and is a licensed Professional Engineer in the province of Ontario.

As Co-Owner and Principal of SAGE Engineering Services Ltd., Golbahar Rafinejad shapes the firm’s operational strategy, organizational performance, and delivery standards. With over 16 years of experience in FDA and Health Canada–regulated industries, she brings a structured, systems-driven approach to ensuring the firm operates efficiently, compliantly, and to the highest engineering and technical standards.
Golbahar provides executive oversight across the organization, ensuring operations, resources, and processes support SAGE’s long-term objectives. She guides the firm’s strategic roadmap, drives organizational performance, and prioritizes initiatives that enable sustainable growth while ensuring the delivery of high-value outcomes for clients. As an executive sponsor, she governs project performance, mitigates risk, and ensures cross-functional coordination, reinforcing accountability and consistency across the firm.
Golbahar’s career spans operational and engineering roles in leading pharmaceutical companies, where she led production operations, engineering initiatives, and continuous improvement programs. She managed cross-functional teams, optimized manufacturing and engineering processes, and oversaw equipment commissioning and validation, establishing scalable practices that delivered consistent, high-quality results. With expertise spanning radiopharmaceutical facility engineering, sterile and solid dose manufacturing, equipment engineering, validation, and project governance, she now provides strategic guidance across a broad range of pharmaceutical engineering and compliance initiatives while cultivating high-performing teams.
Through her leadership, Golbahar strengthens SAGE’s reputation for engineering clarity and disciplined execution, ensuring the firm consistently delivers reliable, compliant, and forward-looking solutions that meet both regulatory requirements and advance client success.
Golbahar holds a Bachelor of Applied Sciences, Honours, Chemical Engineering with Management Sciences Option from the University of Waterloo and is a licensed Professional Engineer in the province of Ontario.
